The shrine was rebuilt in 1593 by the Nanbu clan to be the protective shrine for Morioka Castle. Le sanctuaire est reconstruit en 1593 par le clan Nanbu pour devenir le sanctuaire protecteur du château de Morioka.

Shiroishi Castle was also taken from Sendai, and given to the Nanbu clan which had been newly moved from Morioka Castle. Le château de Shiroishi est confisqué et donné au clan Nanbu qui vient récemment d'être déplacé du château de Morioka.
